LOL...yeah...

For the past week and a half I watched daily, the lake in front of my home turn from a peaceful little refuge for many a winged creature, to now, a frozen, seemingly barren, lonely tract of arctic tundra...a bit disheartening..

I sat and watched the last two swans hobble up onto the ice as the last of the fresh water turned to stone under their feet. The other various wildlife, and there were many, left in days preceding.. The two brave creatures laid upon the ice for hours together. I had begun to think that perhaps they decided to give up and let whatever may come, come right there...I was wrong. they walked for a bit, side by side, towards the center of the lake. Not long after they took wing, to parts unknown(to me)..had no idea what they were thinking, wish I did..but they left together...

During this time we had a few storms. The areas already frozen, accumulated a bit of snow. I noticed each day there were many uniform winding 'paths' being created, the snow seemed to disappear in these areas, leaving about a 2 meter wide trail. -Very similar in width, no matter where they began on the lake.
I also noticed, no matter how winding, and distant, for I could not see where many began, they all lead directly to my shore. Originally I thought some strange wind patterns must be creating these small marvels. While that still may be true, in part, small cracks in the thin ice might also be playing a role..
Either way I chose to take it as a sign..but why would all roads to me??? I could not see the significance, perhaps it was just ego taking hold once more...I sat, confused.

This evening, while contemplating, out in the cold night air, it dawned on me, an epiphany of sorts...I am slow like that...

All these paths do not end here, for this is not that, the end of the road, if you will...

It appears, to me now, this is merely a landing stage, an embarking point. An all roads lead 'from' here, sort of thing..

Nature will always show you the way, or many in this case...

Now I realize why, perhaps, my feathered friends had waited...until certain I had seen them before embarking upon their voyage...I suppose they knew I would understand, eventually...


It does leave me one major question...for which is the correct path?? After all, choosing the right path seems of utmost importance, in this late day...

Enjoyed reading your post of your lake front exiled1. You painted the picture so well, felt as if I was there with you while reading. As I have been working 12 plus hours a day since dec 21 in a industrial setting I enjoyed the trip you just provided me during this lunch hour. Work will be complete on this project today. I could sure use a vicatin or 2 about now, but your lake front story will suffice nicely for now, lol.

I used to have a really cool hummingbird feeder at my old house...think I only seen one the entire 12 years I lived there though. -didn't stop me from setting it up every year and changing out the nectar...well, maybe some years I didn't change it out as often as I should have..seemed the ants enjoyed it more than the birds...


maybe i'll set one out here, come spring...

should be sleeping by now, I suppose..hard to give up that Friday night, been home 2 hours yet find myself not quite so tired as I arrive home on this special eve, these days..yeah the rest of local society is asleep, or just awakening, yet I am fighting the inclination...don't know why...time is precious, and it seems to be slipping away, full throttle, these days..not even certain what time is anymore, do have a notion I am wasting it, and have been for years now...


decided its time to get amped up...a Gibson Les Paul jr. with p90's...I suck too bad to justify more..but this little puppy rocks, watch out bieber, I'm coming, taking no prisoners...yeah I'll forget about it in a month, but that is a month of rocking my ass off


can't put a price on that kind of shit, hells no
