It's Going To Be Survival Of The Fittest

I'm ready. Short of planetary wide frying by the sun or other celestial object.

People use the term fittest without understanding the concept. Darwin wasn't referring to the biggest, strongest or the most aggressive, though sometimes those traits were most suited for survival. Fitness, at least in Darwinian terms means having characteristics best suited for a given set of conditions. Since its unlikely that you know what all of the conditions will be in the future in terms of environmental, social and political events, you are hardly in a position to judge who will survive and who will not.

What do you mean "mankind"? The non-Western world is doing fine, growing 5 to 10%/year

some of us have been harping on food, water, survival gear and protection for years. the day is fast approaching when we will need all of it....

I think lots of people who "make it" will probably be or know someone named 'Bubba,' or else they currently already live somewhere where they are already used to living without modern conveniences like electricity, cars, etc., and will just continue their daily lives without much interruption.

Yea.....no....not at all. Look at africa. Whole thing is a hell hole..... also has 1 BILLION people. Thousands of diseases, and cripples. Lol, survival of the fittest. Heck if you didn't know, back in the prehistoric times weand our neanderthal cousins took care of our sick and disfigured.

But hey, keep on thinking it's going to be "survival of the fittest" even though that term simply can't be applied to humanity anymore, we have elevated beyond such ideas. and I'm not kidding.....

I understand perfectly.

So let me ask you this:

I can obtain and purify my own water. I can hunt, fish and grow my own food. I was trained in the U.s. Armed forces as a field medic and am very well stocked with supplies.

You, obviously, are not simply because you would prefer to shot holes in my post rather than agree that people should prepare for disaster.

Now who do you think is going to survive comfortably.

Yeah, if we are talking unavoidable extinction, I really rather not slowly cook. Slowly being the operative word.

i don't have any skills worthy of listing and am depending 100% on miracles, but i will outlast everyone.
