Yes, that was the minor fulfillment, we are at the threshold of the major fulfillment.
"Also, there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth anguish of nations, not knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and [its] agitation, 26 while men become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 But as these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift YOUR heads up, because YOUR deliverance is getting near." " Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? The Tribulation has not even yet begun.
You have no idea how much worse it is going to get compared to NOW.

Jesus Christ IS the ONLY way to Salvation and Eternal Life.
For He Himself said He is the only way to the Father.

Even the demons shuddered and feared Him and a legion even begged Him not to be cast into eternal fire on the spot.

There is only ONE voice that the demons fear and obey.
It is the voice of Jesus Christ, THE WORD OF GOD IN THE FLESH.

Think of living under a totalitarian system.
Where what is right and wrong is dictated to you and if you disagree, they will murder you by cutting off your head.
Especially if you profess a faith in Jesus Christ.
Millions of people who come to faith in Jesus Christ during the Tribulation will die in this way. It will be like the days of the first Christians, during the time of the Roman persecution. A much greater persecution. But for those who believe until the end, in these days, they shall receive life eternal, although they die in the flesh.

See by the start of the Tribulation to before its end, all the living creatures in the seas will die.

EVERYTHING IN THE OCEANS WILL DIE <- read Revelations of the Bible.

Most of the rivers and lakes of the lands will dry up and become bitter/poisonous and will also kill many people and land animals this way.

When the Tribulation begins, close to 1/3 of the people living will die because of the judgements that are coming.

Plague. War. Famine. Drought. <- the 4 riders of death.

Lets just say that by the end of the Tribulation period, barely, even yet probably millions of people would only be left.

Horrors beyond horrors is the time of the Day of the Lord.
Woe to those who live it and go through it, for there has never been a time EVER that was like this and will ever be again <- as written in Revelation.

Think of the starving and malnurished pictures of people in Africa that you see on tv. <- now imagine this a 100x or 1000x worse and it will not even come close to how bad it is going to be.

Most of the world won't survive the TRIBULATION.
But ALL of the world will be judged. The living remaining when Jesus Christ comes back and ALL the dead of the world in every generation that ever were after His 1000 year reign, when the FINAL JUDGEMENT is given.

You DO NOT want to be part of the FINAL JUDGEMENT.
Because this is the eternity in the Lake of Fire for any who were found still with Sin, who did not have the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ on them, because they refused this gift.

Not sure, it remains to be seen but everyone is invited to stand with Jehovah and be delivered;
" Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Look! My own servants will eat, but YOU yourselves will go hungry. Look! My own servants will drink, but YOU yourselves will go thirsty. Look! My own servants will rejoice, but YOU yourselves will suffer shame. 14 Look! My own servants will cry out joyfully because of the good condition of the heart, but YOU yourselves will make outcries because of the pain of heart and YOU will howl because of sheer breakdown of spirit........ but his own servants he will call by another name; 16 so that anyone blessing himself in the earth will bless himself by the God of faith, and anyone making a sworn statement in the earth will swear by the God of faith; because the former distresses will actually be forgotten and because they will actually be concealed from my eyes.
17 “For here I am creating new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be called to mind, neither will they come up into the heart." Isa65:13

So DEFINE DESTROYED?

Jesus didn't say what would bring on the extinction of mankind, but it's not hard to guess it's going to be man made;
"for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.  In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short." Mt24:21
We only know Jehovah will intercept it in behalf of his international spiritual nation;

"After these things I saw, and, look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands.  And they keep on crying with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation [we owe] to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
..... “These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  That is why they are before the throne of God; and they are rendering him sacred service day and night in his temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread his tent over them. They will hunger no more nor thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat down upon them nor any scorching heat,  because the Lamb, who is in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them, and will guide them to fountains of waters of life. And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes.” Rv7:9
