Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1448185Yea but now that I know for sure that I have gold I can make plans for production. Panning is just to sample. I have a few creeks nearby that I can setup a sluice box. Or I can dredge in the river nearby. |

And its so small it could be from copper pipes or tiny dust from someone cutting copper pipe. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1465159 United States 07/13/2011 04:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok so gold is 1600 dollars and ounce. Quoting: Stoned Alchemist 1204287I figure it is a great time to get in on the next gold rush. So I bought a gold pan starter kit. It arrived today and I went out to the end of my driveway for some paydirt to sample. At the end of my driveway is a bit of a creek with a semi rocky bottom. My area is known for alluvial placer gold. So I took 1/2 a 5 gallon bucket of crap from there and brought it back to the house. After classifying and panning out the paydirt I found this: [link to imageshack.us] [link to imageshack.us] In my pan I had some black sands and two small pieces of color. I took those pics with my microscope 100x zoom. My first gold pan and I caught gold fever ! It looks like someone isn't going to work today. LOL! Have you seen one of these? Skip the first 30 to 45 seconds. |

That is a waste of time, because I can feel that its gold. And I know its here. I am going to get a sluice box and put a bunch of dirt through it from the creek nearby lol ! Then when I get a bunch of this find gold I can smelt it. Maybe I will get lucky and find some pickers and chunks :) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1466542 United Kingdom 07/13/2011 04:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yup, that's gold. Being a jeweller I've seen enough of it to tell the difference. If it was pyrites it would have a darker or crystalline appearance. OP, look for points on the creek where the water goes from fast flowing to still. Also dig out points where the creek goes from shallow to deep, then shallow again (sinks) If there are large boulders, dig out on the downstream side. |
