That a changing climate is a precursor of major changes in our solar environment and not the result of human activity. Sure we may have some effect but overall in the scale of things, it's nothing compared to the major drivers of weather on Earth. Mainstream scientists are only now beginning to accept ideas like Henry Svensmark's where cosmic rays are linked with the formation of clouds in our atmosphere.

The climate and weather have always been complex and there are many factors involved in the process. We did not understand it all enough to accurately predict anything back when all that was accepted was the climate is only affected by processes on Earth. Scientists have began to look further out into space and to the unseen (energy and magnetic fields) and only now have realized that it's even more complex.
