There is still a huge NEED....
I received an e-mail from my office...it seems a minister of one of our local churches has discovered people still living in rubble, sheltering in collapsed parking garages, and torn down houses. They have no food, water, facilities of any kind....no way to cook, no way to store, anything that would keep people going until help comes. The minister has been hauling what he can....and now my office and other church members are trying to get together basic things to keep these people alive. The area is Gulfport Mississippi. There are no emergency mgmt. people there, no help of any kind. I just wanted to post this to let everyone here know that the need is still great. We have to help our own.....individuals, church congregations, offices, school groups, etc.......we are the mainstay of America, the backbone. Please don´t forget about these people...they are basically helpless for now. I cannot imagine being in their situation where the simplest need is just not available. Check with your local churches, etc. and reach out to help our neighbors.........thanks guys, we may be lunatics but I know we have BIG HEARTS...........Silver

Re: There is still a huge NEED....
A lot of people have been hesitant to help because of not knowing for sure where the money, etc. will wind up. That´s why it´s so important for US just regular people to get together and pool our resources in order to send help or take help. Gas is a big consideration, I live a long way from Gulfport but between everyone´s participation......where there´s a will, there´s a way......and we will get a group of cars, trucks whatever and enough gas to deliver the supplies these people must have. They don´t even have underwear, toothbrush, flashlight, diapers, camping equipment.......nothing. Thanks for your response.......Silver

Considering the response of the federal agencies, us regular people are pretty much the only hope most of those people have. Good Luck to you Silver.

Re: There is still a huge NEED....
THANKS for your response, people here are really pulling together to get what these families need to survive. Stuff(even dog food), is already piling up.......and several people have volunteered to shop if someone donates money. Also have several volunteers to deliver and load supplies into vehicles headed to Gulfport. See what a difference WE make.....that´s what we are here for.....each one helping in whatever way we can. Yahhhhyyyy for the humans......we will survive.
