Lisa, I am just catching up with what has been going on with the thread.

All I can say right now is--good for you.

The sword was used wisely--the Holy Spirit granted you wisdom for God's Word.

People have to be careful what they say to others on here, because they may have shown different behavior on other threads they posted on--sometimes proving their hypocrisy.

It's sad that it took away thoughts from the subject, but this is GLP and you never know what direction things will turn.

If you notice, I'm experiencing with my avatar. Don't know what I like yet. We'll see.

It's funny you said that about some posters on different threads because I was just thinking the same exact thing!

It's ok tho, nothing is hidden from our Lord. He knows who has a pure heart and who loves Him and does their best with what they have.

I might not be perfect, and never will be, but nobody can ever say that I don't love the Lord and do my best. Only satan would deny that, he's the accuser of the brethren.

You both belong to God. All of us are still on the Potter's wheel being molded by His Hands.

We're all a sad lump of clay--you could say. But His Hands are so full of love as He continues to shape us and conform us into the likeness of His Son.

We know what our sins are, and we discover more as we travel on.

God knows our weaknesses and understands.
We hurt ourselves when we continue in something that is not good for us, that is why God tries to show us and teach us that there is a better way and He teaches us patience and understanding.

My husband smoked and tried quitting many times. He was too sick before he went to heaven to continue, so for awhile he was smoke-free.

My sister the same--she had ALS and stilled smoke until the day she went to Heaven, too!

My sister was a rare breed, suffered through many things most of her life and she had one of the most compassionate hearts ever-- sorry, I can't speak of her without ever crying.

In my Bible reading this morning, I chose Haggai, for no particular reason.

I found this interesting in chapter 1: 7-11

7--This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways.

8--Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored," says the LORD.

9 --"You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?" declares the LORD Almighty. "Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with his own house.

10--Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops.

11--I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the oil and whatever the ground produces, on men and cattle, and on the labor of your hands."

Here we have the prophet laying the blame for their difficult times on their own lack of sensitivity to spiritual matters, specifically the matter of rebuilding the Temple.

I found it odd that it just happened to mention drought. As I said, I just opened my Bible and turned to Haggai and started reading.

Now I have to toss it around awhile and see what the Lord is trying to say.

So this heat wave we're getting right now isn't normal, it's part of these natural disaster "purifications" we've been having this year? It does seem quite unusual, I don't remember it being this hot every day for a very long time, if ever.

You're so wonderful and loving, do you know that? My grandpop died from a heart attack. He was a smoker. I have absolutely no doubt that he is with the Lord right now. He was the most humble, most loving man in my entire family, and he was a Christian too.
