Sometimes I feel like I'm living in one of those fictional disaster movies--except it's not fictional.

What would be really sad is not being able to stay in touch with all of you.

Well, I'm not going to think of that now.

I talked to my friends today about the credit rating "news" and the solar flare event and they didn't have a clue about either one. I don't get it. They are Christians--Doctors and doctors wives and their children--but their lives are too busy, I guess, to bother with the news. I did finally convince them to, at least, buy some extra water and food in case something should happen.

So, that was a good thing!

This was my experience as well. My brothers and sisters appear totally consumed with daily demands and are not 'looking up' at the bigger picture.

I know just what you're saying. People are too busy, they either don't believe or just don't care. Too many people, christians included, are out of the loop. I can't, for the life of me, understand how come they can't see the signs of the times.

Here is something really encouraging of us christians. There will come a day, when we will never, ever, have to say goodbye again!

Texas farmers and ranchers fear record loss

Livestock pastures on many Houston-area farms are turning to dirt, some covered in 1-inch cracks that would take a tropical storm to fill.

At the same time, an auction house west of Houston reports an ever-increasing stampede of cattle being sold. Ranchers say they do not have the food and water to keep them alive.

Yellowing, burned-out fields of corn, meanwhile, are so stunted that sometimes they don't even produce a single ear.

Texas farmers and ranchers report their livestock and crop prospects in most every sector are withering under the relentless heat and drought as experts fear the state's $100 billion agriculture market is poised to face an all-time record loss.

Many farmers in the PNW had too much rain to plant spring wheat. Missouri- Missippi River valley had floods affecting farmers...

Droughts aren't new in Texas -- one in the 1950's set records -- but this one could beat that. Rain was so rare back then that when it finally rained in West Texas on April 25, 1951, the event was noted on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse in San Angelo.

I was just watching the CBS Evening News and they used the

term "Record Drought" again. They also stated Texas would

have a sunny forcast for the next 10 DAYS.

(CNN) -- In a dry spell unseen since 1895, Texas added 24 new wildfires burning 1,154 acres to a disaster that has so far torched more than 1,000 homes, the state's Forest Service said Saturday.

In all, Texas has experienced 179 fires over 170,686 acres the past week, the service said. The past 10 months have been the driest in Texas since 1895, Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst said.
