Millions and millions of tons of frozen methane in the ocean, not much of a warm up would set it loose. If we keep getting hotter, then it will unfreeze and come bubbling up!

I want to thank you OP for a very good find. It makes perfect sense, "atmospheric heating occuring due to the exhaust from the volcanoes, causing the oceans to warm, leading to the melting of ice crystals at the bottom of the sea that hold onto methane". Methane released.

Methane could be a ligitimate reason why we have had so many beached whales or huge fish die offs. It's the most plausible!

Most of the news stories about dead fish tell us that they died from a lack of oxygen.

More methane has been released and we've got dead fish and dolphins turning up on the Gulf Coast, in fact they're turning up all over the place.

Can't argue with that. I can't get a pin with anything valid. Not that I give a shit about pinning. Just sayin'. First of all... we need to build a giant vacuum around volcano sights. Make the entry point out of a very durable metal and have this vacuum deliver the methane releases up into space. Perhaps the methane itself can be compressed with very advanced technology and sent into space inside of a titanium box. It is not just temperature. The water pressure at depth counts.

Soooo if you have an Ice Age the sea level drops a couple hundred feet, the pressure goes down and the methane comes out.

Then I suppose that the greenhouse methane melts the polar caps ending that particular ice age. Methane ice begins to form on the ocean bottom again and the cycle starts over.

I collect my farts with scuba tank filling equipment. This keeps them out of the atmosphere and limits ecological dammage.

I have over 30 tanks. Great for parties!!
