| Khazaq (OP) User ID: 1476008 07/23/2011 06:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was born 7-19-1977. My father's name was John Christian Rebenstorf IV.* He was a radio announcer for the Cal State Fullerton Titans baseball, basketball, and football. He also worked for KMPC briefly, before he died, doing the play-by-play for the UCLA Bruins football team and providing color for the basketball games. He even got to fill in on a few Angel games before he died on August 9, 1992. It was heart disease that killed him. My father died in Los Angeles (the city of angels), in the Good Samaritan hospital, a few hours after he had an angioplasty. When I returned home, I couldn't sleep, so I resumed re-reading some comic books I had bought the day before. In the first issue of WildC.A.T.s, which concerned a war on earth between two alien races known as the Kherubims and the Daemonites, I noticed the date August 9, 1992 in one of the captions. And in the second issue of Spawn, a demon named the Violator was ripping people's hearts out. Was this random? Was this coincidence? *I should have been John Christian Rebenstorf V, but my father decided not to name me that in order to spare me the ridicule he received in school. |

Quoting: Khazaq![]() It is clear that the universe follows the laws of physics and quite possibly other ones that we are not aware of, but why should that worry atheists? The fact that there are patterns does not prove the existence of gods, but it does tend to disprove some of the god theories. I am not exactly an atheist, but I have noticed that when the term is commonly used it refers to someone who does not believe in the gods that tend to be disproved by the laws of physics and the patterns of the universe. The modern understanding of the gods of all of the religions that derive from Abraham tend to be disproved by the patterns of the universe. |

Well, God made the laws of the universe, so I don't think any of them would disprove Him. You're obviously confused. |

I did say that I was not an atheist. I said that the laws that the universe runs by tends to disprove a specific model of God, not that there is none. |
