You will find out in 1997 that they were bought by no other than Microsoft ... Well MS bought 30% non-voting share ... but even non-voting has some power when they hold 30% of your cash liquidity. The contract made MS unable to sell their share until 2002 (5 years term). They used that time to make themselves big. and TADA ... from 2002 until now ... Apple is using the exact same strategy as MS ... So no wonder who's big brother now ... Furthermore, people are yelling at google but when you look at it, they are the right guys. They are the one that defend freedom of information. Ok they might do some nasty stuff here and there but given their position you would probably do the same. Windows is for people who have always used Windows and want some level of mod-ability in their OS. Linux is for Pros wh want to be able to mod everything and essentially design their own OS.
