Well, true, although as OilPrice said last week, “what it would take for Iran’s new exchange to survive and flourish are some heavy-duty customers that Washington would be wary of picking a fight with, and Tehran already has one – China… China, the world’s largest buyer of Iranian crude oil, has renewed its annual import pacts for 2011." Quoting: LonerangersilverRead more [link to lonerangersilver.wordpress.com] Interesting. The trend is certainly away from the dollar, and more specifically the petrodollar. Barring a world war over these resources (and regimes), the petrodollar will be greatly diminished in twelve months. Why? Look at the trends. Even Russia (which is in the top 3 Oil Powers) has abandoned the petrodollar. The future of this resource lies with the Russians, Chinese and Iranians. It won't be too long before the Saudi's fall victim to the Arab Spring, along with Bahrain and Jordan. "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows" - Bob Dylan. |

In addition you have Brazil trading in common currencies with other countries instead of using the dollar. Mexico which has 2 billion US in dollar reserves purchased 100 tons of gold in March and April and recently announced another large purchase of gold. They don't trust their dollar reserves to hold their value. |

That is saying a lot because the entire oil industry is run by assholes. |

Maybe Venezuela or Brazil. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1481486Anyone have better ideas? Sick of fascists completely dominating the west. There are lots of options, but Venezuela isn't a good one. That crazy Commie-in-charge preys on foreigners, so it'd be suicidal to relocate there without familia there to protect you. Brazil is resourceful if you can stand the central gov't and large military. Most of the southern South American countries are good options, though. There are a couple of options in Europe that aren't too bad, but I think the whole region is set to fall. And then there are still some decent places in Asia that are preparing for a post-America-dominated world =) If you plan to relocate, or just to set up a vacation home/bugout retreat, you might want to get a move on it. Time is short. Peace. |
