Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1481176I think the UK was a 1.2 liter while the USA was a 1.4 liter. So, mpg is mpg and 35mpg for a US vehicle while they sell 53mpg to UK? Why wouldn't they sell them here? I'd take a 1.2 if I got 20 more mpg, wouldn't you? |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 744051 United States 07/26/2011 01:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Great post AC. check your second sentence, looks like a typo. (American cars) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1439437I agree, this looks fishy! Agreed. These are american made cars, same makes and models and years. Over there they somehow get much better gas mileage, how is that? I saw a co2 emmissions on the car from the UK, so it can't be that. Check as many models as you would like, they are ALL getting much more MPG than in the US. |

Next, we have the ethanol. Fuel with FEDERALLY MANDATED ethanol produces much lower mpg. All manufacturers have the capability to produce extremely fuel efficient vehicles, but they are NOT ALLOWED to produce those vehicles for the US. |

Quoting: 3dChildIn UK its 1.2 In US its 1.6 Ok, so none of us have the option to drive the 1.2 liter that was made in America in order to save half in gas prices? Aren't we supposed to be finding ways to conserve? Our own car makers already know how to make cars with excellent gas mileage, they just don't sell them to us. This doesn't piss you off? |

Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points. |

Maybe they are both 35mpg but someone flipped the numbers while typing and made it 53? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 521503It is all of the vehicles and some are 30 vs 60, that isn't a typo. oh...my bad. YEAH THEY'RE FUCKING US ...is that better? My 2011 Tacoma only gets about 20mpg ,i wondered why the hell they haven't improved the mpg in 20 years.I guess they can't , Maybe i should get one of those things that plug in to the computer and change the fuel air ratio. |

Americans want bigger safer cars. And our fuel is cheaper because oil is tied to the dollar, not the Euro. Once we lose world reserve currency status, the price of fuel will skyrocket. Then we will see more fuel efficient cars here. |
