If Elenin is just some ordinary small comet, how come NASA keeps hiding info from the public?

[ link to www.youtube.com] I know. I saw that awhile back. Could be they don't want the public to know... You think? lol They have been spending our tax dollars to build underground bases. They know! Well, how about asking what would happen if they didn't hide it, if we did know that this has the potential of becoming a cataclysmic event? How would we react, what would we do? Panic!  There would be total chaos...
