The service is not offered in my city and I personally know several people who would have used it. After looking into how and where I could dispose of the waste, I decided it just wasn't worth it. Same as this guy here. I found that I would violate several ordinances even if I placed it on a friends' 550 acre property. This is what we are coming to. |

From his tone, he means it. Quoting: Hero ProtagonistYes, it says in the article that he has remained resolute in his position. His is not going to open another coal mine in Alabama. |

Quoting: GaGal 1013803Leaning against a wall during a recent Birmingham, Alabama, public hearing, Bryant listened to an overflow crowd pepper federal officials with concerns about businesses polluting the drinking water and causing cases of cancer. After two hours, Bryant—a coal mine owner from Jasper—had heard enough and, in a moment being described as “right out of Atlas Shrugged,” took his turn at the microphone [link to www.theblaze.com] If he is polluting and causing a danger to others why is this bad? He has no right to do that. |

And in the meantime mortgages aren't being paid and kids go hungry. We have an enormous natural resource of coal in this country and to ignore it is foolish. Invest and research in cleaner coal, fine, ignoring the resource in labor and wages is stupid especially in the current times. |

Maybe the people who need jobs now can work for the coal industry and transfer to the "other" industry as it comes into practical use? What the U.S. Really needs now is leaders who actually care about the people, all people, in other words, Love. |

Yes, this is a coal business and there are considerations into how it affects the environment, however, ALL business owners have NUMEROUS regulations they have to follow, in addition to permits, licensing fees, taxes on equipment, etc. that are preventing them from running their businesses. That is what I wanted to discuss. Example: Each year I have to physically go down to the courthouse and remind them that I do not own any equipment other than an old computer and a desk and phone. If I do not do this, they will just make up equipment that I MIGHT own out of thin air and commit me to pay taxes on it. And don't even get me started on hiring employees. I don't have any anymore and will not be hiring any going forward. Did you know that when you apply for a job, the employer has to keep your file for at least 1 year? Even, and especially if you were not hired. We need to make it EASIER for business to succeed and employ people, not harder. |

What a great deal that was it made everything sooo much better when they got rid of the regulation there didnt it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1483774Apples and oranges! And you know it! |

Coal fucking sucks and so does oil, we gotta get our shit in gear and the first step is phasing all this garbage out of our current necessities. It sounds good to slam coal and oil because they are not the "clean technologies" like wind or solar. However, before throwing coal and oil out the window you better determine the real cost of power using solar and wind. Creating solar panels is not clean or inexpensive and wind turbines are causing several environmental and human problems. I have solar panels and know how expensive it is to create one hour of electricity. I could not afford to purchase enough solar panel just to meet my electric needs much less contribute to the community. Oil and coal are here for many decades to come unless there is a tremendous breakthrough in technology. |

Because he is a coal miner not a gubmint "green energy" fake industry. Do you have any idea how much work and planning goes into opening and operating a mine? Do you think anyone off the street can do this? Do you think capital investment is easy to come by? Do you understand that someone somewhere has to actually produce something so people like you can have a computer? |
