How can you go on with Luther's Faith Alone?  It came from him, do you seeee? It's not Scriptural, Jesus in the message to Father Melvin explained again. Read the OP. Dude really. You should really read Matthew 23 and take notes. 1st warning bell should be the fact you are quoting "Father" Melvin. Jesus specifically told us not to call anyone father!!!! Matthew 23 8-12 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called ‘teacher,’ for you have one Teacher, the Christ. The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Why do people constantly follow the traditions of man Matthew 15 8-9 “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.They worship me in vain their teachings are but rules taught by men." Jesus was using hyperbole. You have misinterpreted that verse along with most Protestants. Jesus and the Apostles referred to holy men and teachers as Father. Matthew 19:16-21 Now someone approached him and said, "Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?" He answered him, "Why do you ask me about the good? There is only One who is good. If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments." He asked him, "Which ones?" And Jesus replied, " `You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother'; and `you shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" The young man said to him, "All of these I have observed. What do I still lack?" Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to (the) poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." Our Lord's words, sound like a "work" to me. You choose to do a good work or not follow the Commandments. Every day? What is your life then, Luther's "faith alone" is so lame. If this truly what Christ was driving at which it was not (he knew the man did not believe on Christ for Salvation) then there is no way you are going to heaven. This is not a commandment for going to heaven. It was a test.
