This is our inheritance, to become united once again with the Godhead source. There we are given our own source/cup of living waters that continually give us drink from the everlasting fountain, whenever we are thirsty. We in a sense design our own cup, by the way we live our daily lives. Everything we do and sow, do it with love, because love gets us home. Keep your love alive. It is the wellspring to Wisdom and to the fountain. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 54629696 Canada 02/22/2014 11:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am actually being sincere here. I was raised in a Southern Babtist home and have read the bible a fair share of times, but I am at a total loss when it comes to understanding how Jesus dying on the cross translates into me being forgiven for my "sins". Quoting: Scrodiddles And please don't just post scripture that just states it matter-of-factly as if I should ignore that we live in a world where things have to correlate. So they torture him, place him on a cross, and then wait for him to die. He passes away, is reborn and then ascends to heaven. Now I get forgiven if I have impatient thoughts? How does that work? Did he die, go to heaven and flip on a breaker switch, resurrect on earth to check if it worked and then just strolled on back to heaven? What happened during his death that made our sins forgivable? It's like a father bursting through the door and telling his son that cursing is now allowed in the house because he hit a deer on the way home. How in the world is it connected? Picture sin as a liquid. This liquid has 2 cups. 2 cups of sin have to be drank by Christ. He uses his body that can easily house the divine, to become sin itself. He lets his body do the purification of this liquid (aka sin). He gets hurt, hanged onto a tree, and then dies. He gets buried in a rich man's tomb. On the third day he resurrects. That same liquid that passed through his body is now in a different form. It is a type of energy that he can easily overcome, the world itself is better for it; because he purified the liquid using his body. He became altered from carrying sin, he changed the cost of that sin. This liquid is the total sum of all evil deeds ever done. This means that if anyone ever aborted a child, murdered, or cheated on their spouse (among other things). Was responsible for creating this liquid that was destroying creation. Why would that be important? Well there is this reality that was made so perfect, so flawless, and required no suffering or death. But this liquid brought death and suffering to all people, this liquid (sin) could not be stopped. It just kept building up. So, the Maker of this reality either has to hit the reset button or purge the flawed reality using a vessel (Christ). Now remember, the Maker could have easily hit the reset button. But in his flawless and most perfect thinking; he gave everyone a chance, a way out. He sent someone bold enough, strong enough, someone who was "him" in all sense of the word, yet also a person. This Christ figure who desired to please the Maker, to ensure salvation was brought into creation. The Maker refused to give up on a corrupted reality, and instead sent a part of himself to fix reality itself. It was not the Maker's fault that it became corrupted, but the people. If you believe the Christ destroyed this liquid (sin) then you will be welcomed to join in on the entire redemption process. This process is called an era, and era in which we go back to the flawless and perfect world. Remember, all it takes is to believe that someone did this for you. You'll get the new body, new soul, and new name, This name will be greater than anything that was from the world, because it will come from the most HIGH. Salvation or separation, the choice is yours. Make the choice wisely or you will be part of the old reality in which sin still existed. If you are part of the old system, you will have to purge your own liquid and suffer for your own corruption (which will most likely delete you). I hope that made sense, OP. I really do! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 54668589 United States 02/22/2014 11:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A person commits a crime, and the penalty may be a fine, or the person gets imprisoned. Let's say this person doesn't have the money to pay for the fine, so this person's loving Dad, may state, let me pay the fine for him. So in a way, another person (his Dad), takes the punishment instead and pay the fine. In the old testament, instead of a person being punished, God allowed another life (e.g. a lamb) to take the place of this person's punishment. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. So we've also sinned, and also deserve punishment based on God's system of justice. But like the loving Dad, who said, let me take the punishment instead, and pay the fine for my son, Jesus, also took the punishment for our sins, since he loved us. In order to receive Jesus' sacrifice / atonement, for our sins, we must believe / accept him. Once we do this, we don't want to "re-crucify" Christ, by keep willingly sinning. So, it's important to do our best, to follow Jesus teachings, after accepting him. And what Jesus often stressed is the importance of loving and helping others. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54538944 The only type of conclusion I can come to is that if you accept him as your saviour that is when you are dissolved of sin, because he is the son of god he has the power to do that. The whole cross and resurrection is more just a display of power and proof he was who he said he was. I haven't read much of the bible so I could be wrong, please correct me otherwise. 1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming." Adam n eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil but they were commanded not to. This is what introduced death, which is why the cemeteries are full of dead bodies. The lord told adam the" day" you eat of the tree you shall surely die. A day to God is 1,000 yrs., which no man has ever lived. So that day we started dying. Christ came as a sacrifice, the lamb w/o blemish accepted by the father. Rose on the 3Rd day as an immortal free from death/sin. An ex of what will happen to all those who obey at the 1st or 2nd resurrection. This is what his death represents. Once you get your glorified/immortal body then you're saved. Until then, we're pressing toward salvation which comes at Christ return. |

I am going to pick up on this later folks.. I will repost it in its completion.. this is just some background stuff to help me explain how I get from A to B in my Batshit Crazy Head. Okay let me see if I can run through my theory quickly. I have stated I AM operating under the assumption that Jesus walked on Earth 2000 years ago or so. I do not believe Jesus allowed the Government to kill him. either he played like he was dead and his followers helped him in this faking of his death by letting him out of the tomb, or he did it all by himself, or the whole crucifixion story and event was propaganda. People seeing him walking around after the so-called resurrection could prove one of three things. either it is all true. the whole story of him being resurrected. OR he was faking his death and left the tomb, or he was never put on a cross at all. So on with my theory. he was not killed and simply left that place to go elsewhere so he could get some peace and quiet, and maybe live a normal life and be a construction worker. this could have been anywhere... I suspect he went as far away from there as he could go...like to England or Scotland perhaps.. maybe he had some kids? and died from old age accelerated by doing to much hard labor as a woodworker? a low wage earner perhaps? a dark skinned man in a land of the light skinned folk? only being able to find hard labor work? Meanwhile back at the ranch The judge who had been ordered by TPTB to eliminate Jesus was afraid he would be disemboweled for failing his mission to kill Jesus. So he started a propaganda story describing the death of. and the later eyewitness sightings of Jesus. this was his cover story to save him self. And there the legend began. Looking back at history, that possible propagandized version of the Death and rebirth created opportunities for powerful entities to gain even more power. The government got to claim that they Killed the Son of God... that is a pretty excellent lie to tell if you want to appear powerful, right? And you can never let the truth be told right? the other benefit of the Lie, would be for a group of men intent on capitalizing on the power and the legend of Jesus. These men knew also that the percentage of the population who did not fall for the "Official Government Version of Events" (sound familiar?) well those folks were ripe for the picking in the vacuum created by the disappearance, or death, or deception concerning the true whereabouts of Jesus. Those people needed a belief system, they needed elders, and scholars and wise men to teach them how to properly worship the son of God. Because some of those people in that group, well they had seen or heard Jesus, or their uncle used to know a guy who hung out with Jesus. there was no doubt that he was the real deal... And folks this in many ways is where we as a society find ourselves today. Basically, all we are sure of is what we see with our own eyes, and we are pretty sure of what we have lived through. Most everything else that is important to us, like religion and politics (in a nutshell) we are forced to pick a version of the truth that we can believe in, and we stand our ground, and base our actions on those beliefs we needed to develop. I mean we all need something to believe in don`t we? This is where we reference reality and justify our actions and interactions. I just told you what I believe in. Who is next?.. please do not waste time attacking my theory. It is mine and I do not feel the need to defend it. My theory will not attack your theory. my theory is potty trained and has been to obedience training. and usually wears a muzzle in public, for bite not bark.... please try to tell me the truth... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 57435273 Canada 04/28/2014 01:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | God's original plan was that we would be with him forever, face to face, but because Adam and Eve fell into sin our personal connection with God was severed. God still wanted to make things right, so he chose a nation called Israel and called them his people. He gave them laws through Moses that are nearly impossible to keep. Therefore God also made laws to set up rituals that require the priest to sacrifice livestock for the forgiveness of sins. They had to do this repeatedly and if God did not find the sacrifice pleasing, the year would be plagued. Still, no matter how much mercy and love God gave to his people, they still turned away from him and sought other gods and pleasures. Out of love for all of humanity, God demonstrated the full extent of his love by coming down to earth as a mere human so that he could be that sacrificial lamb for us. Before, the Israelites would pick the best lamb out of their livestock, but of course it wouldn't be perfect. But Jesus is perfect and sinless because although he faced as much temptation as any human, he resisted and overcame. Blood is required for God's law to be satisfied because the result of sin is death. Before, the priest would sprinkle the lamb's blood and when God looked on the Israelites, he wouldn't see their sin but would see the innocent blood of the lamb and have mercy. When Jesus died, his blood was perfect and blameless, and those who have accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour are now covered with it. When God sees us, he no longer sees our sin-tainted bodies but all he sees is Jesus' blood and he has mercy. Jesus' blood claims us and is what allows God to have mercy on humans. Instead of humans taking the punishment of sin (which is death) Christ died once and for all. When Jesus died, he went into the very gates of hell and took the keys of death by defeating it and coming back to life. Now, God promises eternal life with forgiveness. Essentially, God's law had to be fulfilled no matter what because God is still the God of justice, but by Jesus dying on the cross, the law was satisfied. Kinda like Aslan dying instead of Edmund in Narnia if you saw it (because C.S. Lewis a Christian lol). He died in our place and now God doesn't need to punish us, ergo forgiven out of the grace of God. He came back to earth not to check if it worked but because he had to defeat death and grave for us to be able to have the same gift of eternal life. I really hope that answers your question and I apologize if i was really redundant. I just really wanted to emphasize certain things by repeating them aha. |

We all have sin, which requires justice (in the same way that heinous crimes have a consequence and punishment...a judge in court would not be serving justice if he were not to sentence a crime that was committed...justice would not be served, and he would be a corrupt and immoral judge). God is not unjust or immoral. God is Just. BUT God is also righteous and loving, so the payment of sin, which is death, was taken by Christ. Christ received death not just physically, but spiritually. In the moment that Christ was on the Cross, the spiritual wrath of God was placed on Christ. He experienced the agony of God's wrath for the sins committed by man. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1394404God Himself took the punishment that is required for justice to be served, while simultaneously committing the most loving and self-sacrificial act imaginable. Christ lived a perfect and sinless life, what we are incapable of doing, and was completely blameless...and yet had the sins of man imputed upon Him, while His righteous was imputed on us. The balance was then paid. Once imputed with His righteousness, we are now seen as blameless before God. His sinlessness, through His act of atonement, was transferred to us, it is credited to our account because the payment was made for justice to be served. This does not give us a license to sin, or to continue doing what we are doing scott-free....once you realize the magnitude of the act performed on our behalf, you will no longer want to sin, and will respond with praise and gratitude at the realization of your redemption, and how undeserving you are of it...and how merciful and sacrificial it was for Him to pay the price for you when He didn't have to, for no other reason than out of love for His own children. Many parents would take a sacrifice for their children...and what God did is infinitely greater. He took the punishment for all the sins of man. Yes, but, as I have said, I am well aware of everything you just said. I have read the same book many times. It is spelled out very clearly in that book but, when it comes to actually explaining what changed, there is no answer. There are just metaphors of his blood and how clean we are now. But in terms of actually saying "Jesus died and his soul left his body with such force that it created a void so intense that all of the energy vibrating at the same frequency was sucked in, inescapably. The only energy that matches the void's vibration is Sin. Hence we are all washed of our sins. I understand that explanation is lofty and laughable, but to be honest, it is a better attempt than the Bible ever made. I think the bible explains it pretty clearly.... It may not describe it in the terms that you want to hear but it gives the answer you are asking. In the grand scheme of things I don't think any of us can realy understand the why or the how... We can barely comprehend out own lives in this world so to try to understand this probably isn't really possible that's why it's called having faith... At some point you either have faith or you don't. |
