BREAKING: Ventnor, New Jersey E.Coli in Water Supply < Is this government terrorism on its own people?

Ventnor Mayor Theresa Kelly says she’s disappointed by the city’s water contamination problem – and hopes today’s test results show no traces of E. coli bacteria.

One of nine water samples collected Wednesday tested positive for fecal coliform. Ventnor officials found out about the positive test early Friday afternoon, Kelly said. Kelly said the city was required to report the positive test within 24 hours – and did so within a few hours.

Residents have complained that the city took too long to report the problem.

“After we got the test results, we immediately went to work in letting residents know,” Kelly said.

Those efforts included reverse-911 calls and emails starting at about 4:30 p.m.
