I think the base commander and the chief of the Ft. Irwin Security Forces have some explaining to do." This is what dries me crazy about GLP. Posters almost always overstate the facts. It was ONE sniper rifle. As the above sid, why weren't the weapons in the armory? The Associated Press Quoting: TXGal4TruthPosted : Saturday Jul 30, 2011 8:14:09 EDT FORT IRWIN, Calif. — More than two dozen assault rifles have been stolen from this base, and investigators sought the public’s help as they looked to arrest suspects and recover the weapons, federal officials said Friday. Twenty-six AK74 assault rifles and one Dragunov sniper rifle were stolen from a supply warehouse at Fort Irwin on July 15, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says in a statement. Some arrests have been made and one rifle has been recovered, but the agency is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to further arrests, the statement said. The ATF is probably the one that stole them, to give to the drug traffickers in Mexico, since their last little sting worked out so well for them. They want help to throw the scent off of them and start a wild goose chase. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1159998 IIRC, Fort Irwin used to be where they had their "Red Star" training team that would familiarize troops in tactics and weapons of the Warsaw Pact. That Dragunov will fetch a nice bit of $$$ on the market. 5.45x39 is the current Russian round. |
