Twitter User Investigated for "Anti-Government Propaganda"

That is so messed up. The fact that Twitter caved in to some kind of bullshit request like that just goes to show that those social networking sites do not exist for the benefit of the common people. These sites are playing a huge part in bringing about a worldwide fascist state.

Well Trin I can say that like 7 years ago when I lived over in the charlotte area of nc I was here even then posting some pretty heavy anti gov type stuff here and I promise me and my wife started noticeing we were being followed and watched by the same mib/suv,s for several months so I backed away from here for a few months and they slowly dissappeared.
This is the honest 110% truth!!

I doubt it.

I have seen these subpoenas before and they are written with security in mind. The first lines are almost always "Under order of national security you are ordered to" and then the list tells you things like "Keep this court order confidential" and "present the records required to the court by" some date. All over the documents are things like "violation of this subpoena is a federal crime, you are hereby ordered not to discuss the contents of this subpoena."

Basically, why would twitter tell the guy that is what happened? We were never able to tell customers that they were being investigated by the government. In fact, this happened roughly 1-2 times a day in our department.

And btw they always want logs, they love to look at online activity. Just thought you'd like to know.

Ok, so here's what I have been able to cobble together so far regarding this matter.

Twitter's response from their lead Twitter's Trust & Safety team advisor, @delbius had this to say:

Good on Twitter! I sure would like to know that I'm being investigated before my actual user logs are handed over... that's why kids, you always need a bug-out-bag by your front door.

Nod, it's not something we'd do, nor from an email configured for mail. Sounds like forged headers.

As far as I know at this time, @TORARADICAL is still unable to access his email.

In retrospect, somehow I don't think the DHS would actually use the term "anti-government propaganda" but something more discreet such as "seditious language" or some such rot.

While this may have been a hack job on his Gmail account, this smacks of a bigger conspiracy. Who are the people responsible? Why hack a Twitter user with a small following (1,300 followers at last count)? Was he specifically targeted because of his conservative opinions? Is this something we can expect more of?

Anybody who has paid attention to what is going on with the Internet lately knows that the government has been using Ntrepid's software to create online personas to formulate support for the government opinion. While the U.S. Government swears that they only use this software outside the States to disrupt terrorists, can we really believe that they aren't testing the waters at home?

That letter was written by some retard at Twitter whose primary concern is getting a 25 kill streak so he can drop a nuke on his friends in Call of Duty.

That having been said, it's both an example of the typical moran America who doesn't know shit about his own government or rights and also a case that demonstrates that most people will roll over and play dead if is says to do so on an official form or from a person with a badge.

EVERY large corporation in America is doing its part. Just look at their logos (IF you understand the symbolism), and you will get the picture.

If you read the post you would see the Twitter didn't cave in until they had a warrant and if you reade the updated post you would see that Twitter's posted policy "is to notify users prior to turning over information unless prohibited by statute or court order"

Guess this is a glimpse into my own future.

If it were me I would demand a copy of the so called "warrant" showing a valid federal judge signature or facsimile or whatever else transmitted to Twitter. This shit must stop and the above could possibly be just BS talk from Twitter. Anti-government propaganda is not against the law. A possible court case could come from this. I do not believe for one minute that Twitter received ANYTHING. We could believe this every time until it becomes PUBLIC POLICY.
