they should increase the debt ceiling as high as possible, then buy all assets up in the world. Once that is complete, they could destroy the dollar and restart the economy from scratch with all the assets we purchased with our debt.

Does it really matter anymore OP? Whatever they do, whether they pass it or not, you and I are FUBAR'd. I'm an American Citizen, my parents who were immigrants, died American Citizens, and they got their citizenship LEGALLY! They jumped through all the hoops and bureaucratic red tape bullshit, but they got it. I'm really saddened by the state of this country and how people are taking it lying down and asking for a second helping. It's really depressing.

It'll pass and we'll revisit this topic again in the Fall.
