But this is a serious question for you who have followed this a lot more than this Canadian... The debt reduction plan has cuts of $70ish billion over what time frame?
What is a "reasonable" debt for the U.S. to carry? Are they happy with maintaining a 14B Deficit, as in, is 14Billion their new "zero"?
We all know that the U.S. will hit $20 Billion within the next few years.. What are your thoughts on that?

This vote increases the debt, not decrease. It does not reduce spending. It increased borrowing.
There were trillions of wasteful spending that could have been cut immediately, not spread over 10 years, but IMMEDIATELY. It did not have to include social security, or medicaid/medicare to accomplish it.
Neither established Republicans, or Democrats would even look at the 100,000 itemized cuts in the governments own book of wasteful spending.
Only the Tea Party wanted to cut any of that.
