I tried the A-B-C-D versions of Nook and was not satisfied.
When I found Nook-E, I knew I would be happy forever.

I can on my Kindle but don't use that feature since I have a smart phone and laptop.

I work for a library and for months (or even a year or more) we've had downloadable books that you can put on your compatible device.

Most of the companies lined up and got onboard, but not Amazon with its Kindle.

Since the Kindle IS good, and cheaper than the competition, many patrons bought it, then got upset that they couldn't download to it because Amazon didn't want to play that game if they could sell you the book to download.

My husband bought the Nook (more expensive and heavier) because he could download to it from the library. Has he? Once, just to try it. He now buys from Barnes and Noble and downloads.

In the meantime, enough irate people emailed Amazon about not being able to download free from the library, and lo and behold Amazon is getting set up to let a library/Kindle match-up start... maybe late summer/early autumn.

Amazon wanted as much money as possible (OK, they're a company, but they bowed to demand). Doing it now, I hear the Kindle is easier and cheaper, and downloads are a bit cheaper.

I think that we're going to see a huge spread in these things over the next few years.

Electronic books are clearly overcoming the paper book market already. In ten years it will dominate.

The the is, I don't think that it's going to be a questions of Kindle v. Nook, but computer compatible versus expensive and controlled.

There are massive changes coming to the publishing world. We surely live in interesting times!

Books are much cheaper on the Kindle and the classics are free. It's my most awesome purchase of the year. I really love the text to voice feature when I'm driving.

The Nook color (or any color reader) would have back lighting but anything that uses e-ink requires an external light. There may be one or two that have built in lights around the rim, but I can't remember which ones.

Another one to consider that just hit the market it the android based or Google Reader. I believe only Target is carrying it so far. But it does allow access to all Google Book and supports multiple formats.

If you're gonna get any one, get the Kindle.

It's just the better choice, I've watched/read a lot of reviews about it.

Do your own research to find out the reasons why...

But yeah Kindle.

However, I wouldn't get either one because I resent the notion of an "eBook", as I like to FEEL THE BOOK IN MY HANDS.
