All it takes is a rational conversation... I do it quite often with my neighbors who are mostly Democrats.

Why do you want the government to have a say in everything you do? Do you really think the government can do it better than the private sector? They've sure done a bang up job with Social Security and Medicare! Let's not forget the Department of Education. If the private sector fails, they go out of business. When the government fails, they just print more money and continue the same failed programs.

The Government believes that they are smarter than you, that they know how to spend YOUR money better than you.

But obviously with such viewpoints, I'm "Mentally ill".
