Tresury yeilds just hit an all time low around 10:00am. This means that the price the US pays to borrow money is actually the lowest it has ever been. This may seem weird when the market is selling off, but here is basically why.

The markets are getting killed and everyone worldwide is fleeing into dollars, today, the price the US pays to borrow money hit an all time low.

The reason for this: big investors and fund managers have to put their money somewhere and there is nowhere left.

Stocks are tied to profits: kiss that goodbye

Europe is a disaster: investors believe that they overdid their austerity, (they didn’t print enough money, lol), now they are facing deflation.

China and emerging markets are heavily export dependent: hard to export to countries where their citizens have no jobs and money.

Gold: people are fleeing into it, its at an all time high, but if the investors that buy treasuries buy that much money into gold, it would send the price to the moon.

Therefore investors do not know where the hell to put there money, there is no where left for hedge fund managers and big investment firm managers to dump tons of money really quickly. Therefore it ends up in dollars.

Hmmm… for the conspiracy folks, did you ever hear the reports of how we handed out tons of cash in Iraq and Afghanistan to get those folks use to handling greenbacks. I hate to say it but it look like if all currencies go under current conditions, the dollar is strangely slated to be world king.
