Grand architect is merely the name of their diety. Similar to muslims calling their deity allah, or the christians calling their diety god/jesus. It´s just their particular version of god, that´s all.

I read somewhere that the ´G´ stood for Giza.
Giza was a Masonic temple complex (some believe) where initiates were given the secret to enter into eternal life. Hence the 33rd degree of Freemasonary ceremony simulates resurrection into eternal life.
Now it is a ruin which archeologists think is a complex of tombs...even though some archeologists were, or are still, believers in the Giza legend.
Nowadays Freemasonary is little more than a mens´ club for the idle rich and powerful...at least the mainstream Freemasonary is.

It would take a mason to truly identify it´s meaning.

The word ´gnosis´ was originally (anciently) cnos . the ´g´ is a latinized version. the anglic version is knos or know.

I would guess to say that it stands for the ´ka´ in ancient egypt or the "identity of self". Osiris ´ascended´ taking his ´ka´ with him. Gamma is the letter G or sometimes C or sometimes N in ancient greek. The C at times sounded like a K and was transliterated that way into Latin in some words.

The masonic symbol is two fold. First, it identifies the way and means to remove the veil of forgetfullness by which we are now encarcerated. The second meaning is the way and means to be a willful and powerful ego being, operating in forgetfullness. It´s all choice. The two paths are very distinct but both will lead back to the beginning at the end of ´time´. Everyone goes home.

I thought I remembered there being a thread about the Masonic compass. Pardon my resurrecting it but...



I had a dream last night where I was speaking with someone unkown to me and suddenly I was looking at this "compass" suspended in thin air, each piece slowly moving(spinning)independent of the other.

I asked: What is this thing supposed to represent, anyway?

Answer: You already know. You´ve even written about it many times.

Me: What?

Answer: Did you not say "To Imagine is to Realize" and "In the game of life, the One with the greater power of creative imagination wins."?

Me: Yes. (In fact I had made these and similar statements many times over the years, often posted on forums such as this) So are you saying this thing is somehow symbolic of imagination or creativity?

Answer: Yes

Me: How so?

Answer: Visualize the word "IMAGINE" in all capital letter and then look closely at the compass.

As I did this the three independent pieces began to move, each time they stopped their allignment formed one of the letters of the word IMAGINE, except for the letter "G" which is of course suspended in the center and was displayed just as it is in this image...

along with the comment from the stranger: "See, the "G" is the center of the compass just as it is found in the center of the word "IMA-G-INE". This compass was constructed by those who understood that imagination is "divine"(emphasized). It serves as a reminder. What you do with it is totally up to you."

At that moment I woke up but the presence from the dream spoke once more in my head in a soft, determined yet resounding voice. It said simply..

"Imagine!"

Well there it is. Make of it what you will. It definitely served as an important reminder to me. Powerful word "imagine".

It is probably something really simple. Something like, use a square and compass to trace sacred geometric figures on a Bible to discover the hidden messages or meanings. The hidden words of "G"od "contained within" the "Bible or Torah".
