Time Sensitive: Latest on Recent CME.
The new estimate is 10:00 AM GMT plus or minus 7 hours. This wave is, according to people at SpaceWeather, supposed to create significant Geomagnetic storms.

[link to spaceweather.com]

To get your local time when this CME is supposed to hit, please go here:

[link to www.timezoneconverter.com]

Just input 10:00 and select the "AM" button. Then find your country/town in the second (lower) drop down menu.

You must be sure the "Use The Following Date/Time:" Button is selected!

Last of all once you get the time, add and subtract 7 hours. We are NOW within the 7 hour window that comes before 10:00 AM GMT.

The Converter site does not show when the CME will hit. It simply converts timezones. That way you can find what time it may be when it hits Earth.

We don't know when it will be hitting exactly. The Baseline of 10:00 AM GMT is an approximation. We still have about 7 hours to go until we are in the clear.

The CME will hit Earth. It is just a matter of how severe the Geomagnetic storms will be. Besides, it is not yet 10:00 AM in England.

"...they may have merged into a single cloud that could produce significant storming when they reach Earth on August 5th at 10:00 UT (plus or minus 7 hours). A new model of all 3 CMEs is now available; stay tuned for updates."

For the baseline time as predicted, it will be 6:00 AM there in Washington DC or 3:00 AM in Washington state.

Even after 6:00 AM EST, we still have about 7 hours to go.

My wife just woke me up and complained her vibrator stopped working. Figured it was an EMP pulse or something like that.
Has the CME hit already?

I doubt it. If it hit and did that, it would also affect cell phone communications and possibly land line phones.

Take 10:00 AM GMT and add 7 hours. That makes it 5:00 PM over there in England. 10:00 AM is the estimated time. The Seven hours before and after is the window in which the CME will hit.

It's just a matter if it does anything. As of now, geomagnetic storms can be severe.

[link to spaceweather.com]

Please go to that Time Converter site. Put in 5:00 PM GMT time and select your time zone from the second drop down (lowest) list. Convert and that is the time any threat is over.

I already converted it since I too live on the East Coast. It is 6 AM today for our time here. The outer most part of the "window" is 1:00 PM today.

Re: Time Sensitive: Latest on Recent CME.
You are welcome. Nothing will happen probably. We are getting towards that what I called the "baseline time." That time being 10:00 AM GMT (6:00 AM here on the East coast.)

It is important to know that the entire planet will be hit all at once. There is no dodging it. Time zones do not determine when it hits. Time zones are a way of measuring when it will hit, not the cause of the impact.

Re: Time Sensitive: Latest on Recent CME.
We know it will hit because of our satellites and ground based detection facilities. The worse that would happen is the power grid being temporarily messed up. That is my guess.

I have no idea what "..they may have merged into a single cloud that could produce significant storming when they reach Earth..." means.

[link to spaceweather.com]

"Storming" means Geomagnetic storms:
