Magnetosphere starting to warm up...Is this the start of the double whammy???

Looks like the expected time of arrival will be pretty close. I believe that was around 1PM or have I missed any updates.

There is exactly nothing there yet, only the leftovers of yesterdays tiny blip of a cme.

gonna be some major weird today!!

keep an eye out for power outages, communications glitches. effects could be interesting.

definitely looks like the calm before the storm. Solar wind is extremely steady..

we get LONG days of STEADY without any doom. I have made the discovery from watching over long periods for years now, this is not a predictor of incoming storms. What IS on ACE right now. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] Not yet interesting. and remember just because Nasa says a CME left at high speed doesn't mean it will reach earth at the same speed, in fact likely it will not. Start a ball rolling at high speed, what happens? it slows down. I have seen supposedly big fast CME's stop in their tracts and never arrive at all. That is why we will wait and see.

NIP...I didn`t know something that is moving 2 million miles per hour hung around for leftovers. he he he...Still I think it`s good we have a thread going to keep an eye on it...

thread is fine. the little bit of wind and protons this morning is the left overs of yesterday. CME's are rarely a hit of a couple hours. The last sometimes a couple days before they are done. CME's spread out into a large cloud.

Perhaps a "HALO".......Now you place nice today NIP...it could be a busy day...
