Mayor of Italian city bans kebab
CITTADELLA. - Mayor of Italian Cittadella city banned sale of kebabs, reports Il Mattino di Padova.

“Kebab, undoubtedly, does not belong to our traditional cuisine and is alien to our identity,” argues Cittadella Mayor Massimo Bitonchi.

According to mayor’s direction, catering that entails large volume of waste must not be allowed in the city center.

“Not mentioning very low compliance with health standards, it is left too long in the open air. We must revive the best values of our national cuisine instead,” said Bitonchi.

You can never find a good kebab in Europe. You can eat real kebabs only in Turkey and some middle east countries so you don't miss anything but banning something that people voluntarily eat isn't a democratic action. What will happen if the other countries start to ban pizza all over the world?

You are wrong, there are some amazing kebab stores in Berlin where lots of Turks live. Most indeed use scrap meat and hamburger meat, but some make real kebab. Imren Döner or Yaprak Döner, if you ever come to Berlin, find one of these. ;)

If we were to ban kebab (the food of gods) in Sweden i would kill myself. Or move to another country. I do not function without my weekly kebab fix.

Not in Berlin but I ate kebab in several big cities of Europe and they weren't even close to the ones that you can eat in a regular kebab house in Turkey. In Netherlands, they were even serving it with barbecue sauce on top :))There may always be some exceptions though.

Meat quality is key indeed. I always eat Döner in the stores where i see lots of Turks buying. The Imren or Yaprak Döner i mentioned is made out of 100% beef, not 70% hamburger meat like the majority of Döner shops. Actually i find it quite sad that people allow them to make such shitty food instead of the real one, they should be ashamed, but profit is everything it seems.

So you have a special Netherlands Kebab, congratulations.

BTW a good kebab will neither need barbecue nor garlic sauce or any other kind of sauce, it must have balanced amounts of onion and garlic in it with a lot of different spices of course.
