For those of us on the West Coast and in Japan, I believe the damage has been done. There is no running. The reality is that if you run from one thing you are running into another country and will face more problems there. IMHO, the best thing to do is to stay positive, keep your eyes and ears open, be wise and just live in the moment. We can't change what already happened and we can't live in fear. Harboring negative thoughts/energy is just going to drag you down to a point where it consumes your every thought. Living like that isn't living IMHO. Good luck friend and stay strong

They aren't dropping like flies yet. There have been a few deaths likely to acute radiation poisoning, but as you might already know, radiation is going to kill over a long period of time. There are numerous reports of stillbirths and unexpected miscarriages but it's impossible to put a number on those. The West coast of the US/Canada has a lot of those as well. So the dying hasn't really begun yet. But like the sun coming up in the morning, it shall no doubt be a mass, slow death for countless people.

Dogs losing their hair? I dunno! It's summer so the mongrels are probably moulting. A few mutts might be bald near ground zero, but I don't know. Generally the more sophisticated the organism the more it is likely to be affected by radiation. Dogs are somewhat lower on the evolutionary scale as us sop they don't have systems which are damaged as easily as humans' systems.

Children are having lots of nosebleeds - and diarrhoea - and suffering from lethargy and lack of appetite. Indications of low-level radiation poisoning. Of course the symptoms they have now are going to become worse in many cases and most won't live long enough to breed - and they most likely won't be able to breed anyway due to their DNA being too damaged to facilitate pregnancy. Many guys will be infertile - and women too. (Probably a blessing in disguise).

Tokyo a ghost town? Well in a way it is. People are tending to leave as soon as they can ad if the men can't then they are sending their wives and children elsewhere away from the increasingly radioactively polluted Tokyo. The dangers in Tokyo are no joking matter really. The radioactive particulates are there, and in some places where they have accululated the danger is high. Tokyo water is radioactive in places and so is some of the food. the radioactive food is sneakily being sent all over Japan sans the info that it came from near Fukushima.

Tokyo is becoming a ghost town - and furthermore it will be a ghost town soon enough. No sane person is going to want to live in Tokyo once they learn the danger. Maybe a few stupid mouthy people will try to act tough and state they would live in Tokyo - or that they do live in Tokyo - and they are happy the place is safe. But I think a good few of those noisy people are increasingly uncomfortable and that cognitive dissonance will force them to eitherchange their minds about living in Tokyo or they'll go mad trying to live whilst lying to themselves.

Geiger counters - rare as hens' teeth and highly over-priced. Also they are application specific and most measuring done by those meters that is published is innacurate due to any number of reasons.

I'd like a small geiger counter which I can test food and water with. Fat chance of scoring one right now for me.

Internet sites, blogs forums etc are being monitored and info the J gov doesn't like is removed quickly once found. Just after the disaster the government created a new department to spy on the 'net and delete stuff they didn't want people seeing. Most people here know bugger all of what's really happening. Still a majority of the people think things are getting better. The J gov lies through its media mostly by omission or obfuscation of the facts.

Millions might not survive to the end of this decade is probably far truer than saying millions of people won't live to the end of the year.

:( I am so sorry to hear that. I know recently here in the states there has been a 30% increase in newborn deaths and they have linked it to radiation from Fukushima. Mind you government won't corroborate those findings but they were able to show in the study that it was the case. The factors were all there and they all pointed to Fukushima.

I and my wife had a stillborn near-full-term daughter ten years ago. I still have the bouguet of flowers that was on her coffin (box) when she was cremated. I always think I have to do something with the faded and brittle flowers but it just sits there on a shelf... .
