This has been going on for decades. In NY State, the inmates make all of the chairs, tables, filing cabinets, book cases, and even soap that you see in every public school and government office, amoung countless other items that are made in trade shop settings. Even the beds themselves that the prisoners sleep on were welded by other inmates. It is an enormous scam.
Quoting: Ninja Xso basically instead of someone that followed the law and did not end up in jail, getting a chance to make the profits, instead they use slave labor? prisoners should be self sustaining. they should farm their own food, make their own clothes, even produce their own energy, but replacing workers on the outside? its not fair for them to steal our jobs.
