Sharpening

One of the easiest sharpeners is the The Spyderco Tri-Angle 204MF Sharpener. I have found that I can teach young children how to safely and correctly sharpen many tools with it since it includes brass rods to protect their fingers.

In tribal societies in which sharp implements are common, far less accidents occur. Accidents happen because most people DON'T use tool, and so they don't have a healthy respect for sharp edges or heavy ones falling on unprotected feet.

This tool is a great investment. Yes, you can sharpen without it, but this one keeps the basic angle uniform through the motion. It typically costs around ~$90. I have seen is for ~$50 too.

Listen, he tells you how to use existing sandpaper grits to get very fine sharpening done on the cheap.

It will sharpen most of the tools that the average person needs to work on.
