Luxury items for barter post-collapse
If one can make ethanol, one can certainly make a lot of trades post-collapse. Of course that's common sense. An alternative, I think is perfume and cologne. Long-term after a collapse, these two items will be very rare. Taking a small portion (½ pint) of vodka and adding a few drops of common essential oils, one can make them. Excellent and inexpensive essential oils like bergamont, sandlewood, ylang ylang, orange, lemon, cedar, etc could be purchased for a small amount of money. If one could raise potatoes, then this could be distilled with less concern than producing ethanol and could be sold in small containers.
This vodka could be made with far less worry about charcoal filtration or precise temperatures.
Sweat doesn't ordinarily smell. What smells in body odor is bacteria. One way to eliminate this bacteria is apple cider vinegar. People who can make it, can sell it for this purpose as well as the more practical use of pickling vegetables. Likewise a way to naturally take care of this is to soak pine needles in water and apply this lightly under the arms.
Still that will be common. Being able to “court” people again by smelling nice will be rare.
