Take a minute to remember those who lost their lives and pray this never happens again. [ link to en.wikipedia.org] An estimated 39,000 people were killed outright by the bombing at Nagasaki, and a further 25,000 were injured.[4] Thousands more died later from related blast and burn injuries, and hundreds more from radiation illnesses from exposure to the bomb's initial radiation. The bombing raid on Nagasaki had the third highest fatality rate in World War II[5] after the nuclear strike on Hiroshima[6][7][8][9] and the March 9/10 1945 fire bombing raid on Tokyo.[10] Quoting: stillhereTOUGH FUCKING SHIT! DON'T FORGET THE 80,000 AMERICANS WHO DIED IN THE BATAAN DEATH MARCH AND THE MILLIONS OF CHINESE KILLED BY THE JAPS, NOT TO MENTION ALL THE DEATHS AND DESTRUCTION AT PEARL HARBOR BY THE SNEAKY JAPS. FUCK THE JAPS. THEY HAD THIS COMING TO THEM. TOO BAD THE U.S ONLY HAD TWO A-BOMBS AT THE TIME. WE SHOULD HAVE BOMBED THOSE BASTARDS BACK TO THE STONE AGE WHERE THEY BELONG. FUCK YOU JAP LOVER. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1499706Goodness, do you buy everything your government tells you? Stone age? Are you kidding. They put americans to shame --who made your tv, car, do you or your children own an X-Box, playstation, cell phone....... Women and Children should never be killed because of things beyond their control. We live in a global age, we are human, we share a planet, if we want any kind of future for our children we must think of others. Quoting: stillhereThe Japanese, and the German for the most part, industrial base was rebuilt and modernized after the war by us. (You know, us being the U.S. for the most part.) We were the only country to come out of WWII untouched, with more resources, production, manpower, and food than we could use. The catch to that was, where our industry remained being cranked out of turn of the century and depression era factories, those of the defeated axis powers were rebuilt new post-war. And THAT gave them a huge step up by comparison in the years to follow. Also, honestly, you should drop the "Native American" avatar and stop pretending to be some enlightened and peacable soul if that's where you're taking it from. A lot of what your espousing, such as your last paragraph, really doesn't fit the character you wish to play. In all honesty, we "Indians" weren't always so very noble and exemplary individuals. We made war against other tribes and bands, we slaughtered our enemies without remorse, we enslaved foes (and even kept and traded African slaves), and pretty much displayed every other human foible and failing as well. Quoting: OkieEvery group of people has it's failures and successes --I feel it helps to look to the worst and try to avoid those failures and look up to those successes and aspire toward growth. Frankly the avatar is the only one (of the ones available) (on this site) that appealed to me. No disrespect or claim of wisdom intended--just a desire to learn and improve. Thanks for your comment-- I appreciate your thoughtful reply.
