Yes, referring to the brain-eating amoeba comment--you reminded me of the reaction of the surgeons when they were peering into her head--we never got an explanation of what they saw--did we? Did I miss that?

No we didn't! I thought that was intense! My husband and I actually argued about that scene lol!

Firstly, it was an autopsy right ?

So the surgeon told the other doc to "call everyone"...by phone or in person? And if by phone, was he referring to CDC, WHO, etc.? I thought he meant for other surgeons to come into the OR to see whatever it was in person!

There was another scene where we were left up in the air too with no answers...will ask my husband what that was!

Just got back from church and dinner.

My impression was that whatever it was they shouldn't be near it--so I didn't think he meant to call more surgeons in--I thought he meant the government officials.

Soon, there will be more people on the internet "dissecting" this movie, so we will be able to see more thought provoking input.

Excellent movie. Couldn't help myself. I coughed, and at least a dozen others did immediately after.. I really liked the ending.

We could also say Matt Damon was in the movie The Brothers Grimm with Heath Ledger. Think of how Heath died...BIG PHARMA!

Actually I did too and I held back the 2nd time I wanted to do it ...very good ending !

The movie was disjointed. Undewhelming, and a flat line ending.

Literally crap ending. Sure lots of scenes of ppl rioting, being ushered like sheep, FEMA, cdc, fights over vaccine quantities etc.

Jude law played the bad guy. His conspiracy was a lie and in the end we are told to not believe everything read on the Internet, trust big pharma and govt, CDC etc to always have our best interests at heart.

Nice near ending scenes of everyone taking nasal vaccines lie good sheep.

The preposterous idea that big pharma or CDC, etc manufactures disease to sell cures was completely brainwashed into the audience by the end.

If anything it was big pharma porn and social conditioning / major fear mongering.

I agree completely. We just got home from the theater. They even managed to explain away last years H1N1 virus fiasco by comparing it to the present outbreak and saying that it was better to be prepared and warned that to not be. So now everyone can breathe a big sigh of relief that the WHO is taking care of us.

Do you all remember when they showed a closeup shot of the new vaccine "MEV-1" (or MERV?) being stored with SARS on top and H1N1 in the middle?? Very intentional indeed !

Well, went to the midnight showing of "Contagion"

It was at a beautiful new theatre, although they were showing the movie in one of the smaller auditoriums.
We got there 20 minutes early--only a handful of people--so we got good seats.

Then someone came to sit behind us--the woman started coughing. That's the last thing I wanted to hear.

Movie started at 12:01 and the theatre was about half-full now.

I won't say too much until others have seen it. Things that come to mind that are safe to say is one fact that was brought up--we touch our face 3,000-5,000 times a day!

What? Is this true? And what did you touch before you touched your face? Today I find myself semi-consciously aware of how many times I'm touching my face.

Another thing that stood out were the frequent comments about how people shouldn't rely on information from the internet.

The movie has an odd calmness to it but still effectively portrays the grim reality of how an outbreak like this could happen even now.

Jude Law plays the part of a conspiracy theorist. Matt Damon was excellent in portraying a dad who did his best at "keeping his cool" while everything else was falling apart.

Kate Winslet--excellent!

If anything, I think this movie will heighten the awareness of how easily germs can be transmitted as well as help to sell a few more bottles of Purell.

Oh, and by the way, the woman behind me coughed a few more times during the movie and then I could tell she was trying to hold them back--that was considerate of her.

I think we should give a little review to the movie " The Stand" as well.. That was one of the most moving movies and stories I have ever seen..

Also, on that subject. This morning on the Glen Beck radio show he said something that is truly monumental.

He said that the darker a shadow is ,reflects or is an indication of how intense the light is that the shadow is cast from..
