She doesn't have to sign off on Medicare reform, if the committee doesn't come up with a viable plan and that plan approved by Congress, come December there will be an automatic cut to Medicare (the trigger is there, it will be pulled one way or the other).

As for the Super Committee, why weren't people calling and writing Congress before this came about? Where is the ACLU? It is an illegal method of the legislative branch.
