Do you take Kelp tablets/Iodine?

I use liquid KI (potassium iodide). Two drops/day comes to 225 mcg and it's made a HUGE difference in my energy level. Before that I was dragging around feel crappy all the time. Could hardly get out of bed some days.

I'm sure, in retrospect, it was hypothyroidism because iodine fix it. This isn't enough, BTW, to protect me from radioactive iodine, but I've got enough of the bottled stuff on hand that I will use it for that if necessary.

I don't think there is any limit on kelp but if that were straight iodine you'd be in big trouble.

Most Americans are deficient in iodine. When Fukushima first went off I put a drop or two of iodine on my feet every day but my girlfriend borrowed the bottle for her dog and I never seen it again. I would continue to do so again if I ever find the bottle.

I used to use ground kelp as a spice in cooking. I imagine something like a 50/50 mix with salt in the salt shaker would be a really good idea.

I felt a lot more energy when I was taking extra iodine too. I am probably normally deficient in iodine.

it says the kelp tablets contain 200ug of iodine in them, not sure how much that is.

Just one thing to consider is that most of the commercial kelp in the US came from Japan.

If you worry excessively about radiation

According to [link to www.arcetri.astro.it] 1 ug equals 1 mcg which is 1/1000th of a miligram or one millionth of a gram. That means that there is less than one part per 1000 parts of actual iodine in your kelp in a 250 mg tablet.

It would be more effective to take them on an empty stomach. They promote digestion so they won't upset your stomach like most pills.

I'm a fan of "MODIFILAN Brown Seaweed Extract".

I bought the iodine I use on Dr. Bill Deagle's site.

It isn't cheap and I use it daily.

The cheapest and safest way is just to put a drop of iodine on your skin every day. You can buy an 8 oz bottle of equate substitute for Betadine for under five bucks that will last a lifetime. Unless your girlfriend steals your bottle for her dog...

why do you take kelp whats it good for is it like spirulina ?

I take 5 or so drops of Nascent Iodine everyday...helps with energy levels. Fluoride inhibits the uptake of iodine in the thyroid, where it is needed to do many things by your body.

I was looking it up and that Nascent Iodine sure is expensive. It is about 100 times the price of betadine. I got my betadine back and pit a small squirt on the bottom of my feet. As soon as my skin came in contact with it I notice my mouth started salivating and is no longer dry.

Has anybody ever used both types of iodine and can report the difference?

I liked it when I was using my betadine AKA "Providone-iodine" every day. I'm glad I finally got it back. Will consider spending 100 times more for Nascent Iodine when I win the lottery or if one of you guys convinces me otherwise.

Yes, I take 1-2 capsules a day of NOW brand Kelp. I've never been tested for thyroid problems but it runs in my family. Good stuff!

Not that much iodine in sea water. But it does contain a higher concentration of fluoride than fluoridated tap water. But my guess would be that nobody bothered to answer the question because it was so obvious.

I take SSKI (potassium IoDIDE)which has some Iodine added ... about 750 mcg/per drop...I take about 5 to 10 drops a day (pulse dosing/ie some days I skip to give my body time to rest from detox) and some days I'll add 12.5 mg Iodoral tablet in order to get additional Iodine)

Why so much? Because we are continually getting Fluoride, Chlorine, Bromide ... all which displaces Iodine...take enough Iodine/Iodide and it removes these offenders and allows Iodine to take its rightful place on the Iodine receptor sites which exist on EVERY cell in the body.

Iodine also helps the body to remove some heavy metals, parasites, fungi etc.

I take 5 325 mg Now kelp caps. I also take Vit C., Cinnamon, and 1 Tbl. coconut oil.
