Military Vehicles on Trucks in Louisiana
My family and I drove to Louisiana yesterday for a family funeral and drove home to Texas today. One thing I noticed were a lot of APCs and LAVs being transported on trucks on I-10/I-12, all east bound.

Does anyone know if these are out of Fort Polk or was there something else going on? I was just curious because in all the years (20) we've travelled in Louisiana on I-10/I-12, I've never seen that many military vehicles being transported.

MOST TRUCK DRIVERS KNOW WHO HAULS WHAT. SMALL ARMS PRODUCTION HAS SLOWED DOWN. NOW YOU SEE MOVEMENT OF LAND VEHICHLES. FIVE YEARS AGO MOVEMENT OF RAIL-CARS TURNED INTO CONTAINMENT CAPSULS WAS THE BIG DEAL.

It is usually cheaper to tow them over highways.
The military has been moving their toys around for a long time.

In Louisiana.

See lots of movement as of late.

I live 20 miles north of Chennault airpark and the Lake Charles Airport.

Jets move all day long to Fort Polk from Chennault.

Trucks and humvees back and forth all the time.

Look if you want on google maps.

From Leesvile outside Fort Polk they take HWY 27 to the on Ramp at Sulphur to Lake charles

There is some training going on there. It should be cleared out by the end of this week.
