You are all missing the point here. Be not afraid, do not go into the woods hiding out like an animal, this is a time to walk out with ZERO fear, do this and you will be fine...

Peace.

this all sound very bruce willis but il stick to what the bible is telling me , god will not save you in the cities , a magic hand will not come and protect you , it specifically says those who want to survive this go to the wilderness ... please dont think otherwise you may and probably wont make it

Re: Thing's to survive in the wild PIN FOR EVER .!!!
my advice is: first practice camping, maybe for just a weekend but as the saying goes "the more sweat lost during training the less blood lost during war"

second: bring two tarps, one to put inside your tent, and one to put under your tent. This is keep your tent clean and washable.

third: to a police line to pick up all your trash after you leave your camp site. It helps cover your tracks and stops critters from becoming camp moochers.

None of those things will help you one bit. If you ready now, you probably wont ever be. Living in any industrialized society you are toast, as the machine already has you and is in the process of chewing you up.

Forget about your plans for 'survival' and enjoy the last few hours of your comfortable life-style. If you are lucky you wont ever have to deal with anything really painful before your heart gives out.

My Bible says in the last days "mens hearts will fail them"
We all die, the thing is to die well. Don't die because you are afraid, die because a little Braveheart lives in all of us. Die on your feet, or they win.

Yes you can get different sizes of these lenses. They even come in a pocket size.

They also sell them in any office supply stores like Staples. They are used for reading by placing them directly on the book pages. They are the size of a standard book page of 8.5x11 I believe.

You can buy them on ebay as well.

To OP:

IDEA: Maybe if everyone who posts here, or is just interested in the information being exchanged here should just save this listing to your favorites.

Everyone can report here daily to check for more good content, or to add more content themselves. This way OP, you'll have a constantly building library of information that will dwarf all other sites.

It could work if everyone sticks with it, and lets face it, if it is continued daily, you'll always be hovering somewhere on the first page and in everyone faces. After all, isn't that what you would wan't?

I think I would forget about the full time pin though, but one never knows.

Just a thought.

I'm all by myself. I wont last long that way.

One very important thing to know when in the wild would be for someone in your group to fully understand natural medical treatments for the rest of the group.

There's also lot's of stuff for children and pets as well on this sight.

This is a complete website full of thousands of pdf files. Right click and save to your computer for later study.

shop around for that water filter. AquaRain is just as good as Berkey and it's American made. Berkey spends more on marketing.

.22LR (or) small pump-action air rifle.
Let's face it, small 'varments' would be the #1 source of nourishment. They are both very light and the .22 could still take down a deer with a good shot. You can also re-collect the ammo on your air-rifle and even file down small stones if the need arises.

tents
 Quoting: MrFRED

If you have the luxury of a tent, North Face is the lightest and most durable

camping gadgets ...anything you can think off ... then at the end of the thread gather all info ...
 Quoting: MrFRED

Utility Knife (leatherman, etc)
first aid kit
Needle, Thread (clothing repair)
Compass, maps (if possible), paper and pencils
Parachute cord
water filters/purifying tablets
Sleeping bag
Self defence weapon (like a small pistol that you hope to never use)
clothing
fishing line
magnesium fire starters
compact survival books (first aid, surgery, plant identification, and a book for spirit/morale)
aluminum canteen or plastic canteen with aluminum belt-holster (for cooking/boiling water)

This kit is light-weight, probably about 25-30 lbs... Easy to move in... I imagine OP's kit is about 90lbs or so and thus OP would have to maintain a much higher calorie diet just to carry the damn thing.

Good post OP. There are thousands of these posts here on GLP lol.

Re: Thing's to survive in the wild PIN FOR EVER .!!!
YOUR list is a camping list. It has little to nothing to do with survival in the wild.

Your list has you carrying around crap you don't need, and most likely will drop after the second day of hiking for 10 hours across uneven terrain.

Living in the wild means you have to play by Nature's rules. Your tent, your xbox, your ipad, your other crap is not plying by the rules.

A nice wooden long bow and knowing how to fletch (make arrows) from materials in the area will get you farther than a gun when it comes to hunting.

Snags are wonderful, if you are going to remain in the same area a day or so. If you are on the move you need to be able to bring down small game while you are going.

Knowing how to clean (gut) a small critter and knowing which materials that are usually thrown out are best to be saved will mean the difference between life and death. Intestine is one of the least understood 'tools' from your hunt.

A magnifying glass is a semi-good idea.

But you are in the UK, this means you get what 100 days of full sunshine and the rest varying shades of cloud and rain? That magnifying glass ain't going to do you much good.

It will not even do you much good in a forested area. you can go for miles in native forests and not find a clearing to where you can get full sun.

A Tinderbox is needed, flint, fire-steel and charcloth. Knowing how to make charcloth is going to be important, knowing how to strike up a fire from flint and steel is also important. A tinderbox can be used sun or rain, day or night.

Plastic, Duct Tape, Mosquito netting, baseball bats, water filters, solar cells, folding chairs, etc - useless in a survival scenario. And way too much weight to be hiking the back country on your back.

Native American Indians would go for months at a time with only a bow and arrow and a decent knife and the cloths on their back. They sought out natural shelter, they knew the food that the land offers.

THAT is survival.
