I sure as heck think so. It sure isn't getting that much attention to. I can just see beachgoers walking by the water cannons trying to cool the earth off thinking, "oh isn't that odd?" as they continue walking...

Lava movement under the area slowly warming up the ground, I would assume. The entire coast has been swarming with earthquakes lately, so I wouldn't be surprised with an eruption of some sort, or maybe a volcano is born somewhere in that mountain range.

Interesting post though. I had searched psychic predictions for Australia recently, and found reference to lava rising on your west coast, and causing fires. It was made a few years ago, but seems to be happening now.

So much strange stuff happening today! First Mount Etna comes to life, then we have a swarm of small earthquakes under or near California, then the moon is totally shadowed by something no one has identified, and now the ground near Santa Barbara is smoking... holy crap! What the hey is happening?

Don't forget that the Cleavland Volcano in Alaska is erupting, AND an undersea volcano off the cost of Oregon erupted spewing out a 2KM lava flow...

In 2008 there was a hot spot in Ventura County -- next county south of SB -- that they never found an answer to. I live between these 2 hot spots ...

Well that explains the need for the sprinklers on this on near Santa Barbara.

Lasat week there were vids up. California, an extinct volcanic area with new steam and smoke vents opened up, and active.

one more reason I'm leaving LA at the end of the month... I'll be able to watch it all go down from the safety of the San Bernardino Mtns =P

the bad think is .. the whole west coast will be covered sooner than someone can think with a coat of volcanic ash .. the worst is .. no one warns the ppl who lives there :-( all and anything there is connected to the long valley/yellow stone caldera .. but ok .. not one human on this planet will survive that erruption ..

How come they don't do some more indepth analysis of the phenomenon now, before it fades away again and some day wakes up for good and maybe killing thousands of people?

Are they trying to hide something behind these so-called "assumptions"?

Can they explain it any better? Is it volcanic or not?

Because it is very strange due to the latest events surrounding the west coast of USA, like the volcano in the coast of Oregon, all those plumes emanating from the ground and all those earthquakes.
