It's fine to have God in the USA but what does that have to do with Jesus. Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, etc. are religions, and the USA is not a theocracy. God is over and above all religions.

Sorry to break it to ya, OP -- Jesus is a mythological construct. It's a placeholder for ALL Christ figures. It's a sort of super-Christ...meant to be a universal Christ figure that everyone everywhere can worship.

So whether you like Mithras, Herecles, Buddha, etc., etc., you can appreciate this Jesus construct -- because it will contain enough of your own particular Christ figure that you'll have no problem believing in it.
