Anonymous Coward User ID: 1501781 Finland 08/16/2011 05:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yesterday, after a 3-year, 21-kilometer journey at top speeds of less than 0.2 kilometer per hour, the Opportunity rover finally arrived at Mars's Endeavour crater. The intrepid explorer had already poked into 11 craters, the largest 750-meter-wide, 70-meter-deep Victoria... What I'm posting about is the photoshopt picture. NASA sure is getting lazy about releasing photos when an amateur like me can do this. I really don't know much about editing photos but I did what I thought I really saw when I saw this rover photo. Granted I do believe Mars is covered with plants and shrubs and maybe even trees just removed by NASA. There's been some really good threads about it right here on GLP. I know someone here on GLP can probably post better renditions then this one too and I thank you in advance for doing so. Anyways here's the original photo: IMAGE ( [link to i968.photobucket.com] ) And here's the one I adjusted by adding some green and darkening the image to take away some of the red and lighting that I think is added. IMAGE ( [link to i968.photobucket.com] ) And NASA released a "False Color" image here: [link to www.nasa.gov] And as a side note. It sure does look like an old dump. One like I've seen before. I've zoomed in on the debris and saw what looks like cans and shit eroding out of the ground or some other junk. Some strange looking disc or something right in front of the center rock. But like I said, I'm ans amateur. I bet someone with a better knowlege can do better. Interesting stuff in these photos. Enjoy look, i made it red! holy red planet, batman! Anonymous Coward User ID: 1491347 United States 08/16/2011 09:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is no grass on Mars. Unless Capt. Cheech and Commander Chong left a little something behind during the '69 farout shuttle mission. Give it a lil time and there will be "greener pastures" on Mars. Quoting: danwaAnd you are there to see this? How do you make this assumption? Because of man's silly toys and corrupted images? The planet is being re terraformed by star fleet. it is once again a living being. I have not idea of what plants are flourishing there however. There have been bases under the surface for a very long time up there and the process at refurbishing it going on since long before man put his silly toys up there for pics. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1491347 United States 08/16/2011 09:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Grass on the surface?? Possible, though it won't do any good. Everyone on Mars is living underground . Quoting: Fraamit won't do any good? Dear one, it can grow because of atmosphere, and the good is there will be more growth which continue to add to the oxgen in the atmosphere. At some point animals will be introduced if not already, I have not asked, and then it will go as it should. then at some point folks can again live on the surface, which include man of earth as he expands into his solar system. who knows if it's "grass" as we define it or not, but certainly becoming blanketed with green stuff of some sort. |
