I will admit that my understanding of orbital mechanics is not the best. That being said, from what I do understand, if one of the inner system planets suddenly left its orbit or disappeared, everyone on earth would know about it. For a very brief period of time.

Indeed, where is it? It should have shown up on LASCO C3, according to NASA, on August 13th and moved during the transit from left to right, exiting the view on the 22nd. It never appeared. It was not visible in ANY images that NASA says it SHOULD be visible in, for the 13th, the 14th, the 15th, the 16th, the 17th, the 18th, and now the 19th.

So, some powerful gravitational force has displaced Mercury, probably throwing it into the Sun. That big CME we got with the X-flare a bit ago - that CME might have been the remnants of Mercury after it splashed into the Sun, was heated to plasma, then thrown back out in an explosion of planetary death.

In any case, Mercury is definitely gone.

I know. I think I hear the fat lady starting to sing. And those videos of the ETs evacuating their Earth bases were creepy8o
