So where is astronut and his followers to debunk this thread? It does seem odd that Mercury seems to be deformed while approaching the sun, but maybe it could be explained by ccd overload due to the brightness of the suns corona. Has this ever been observed with Venus while it transits the sun? Bumity Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1289696Deformed to appear invisible? I don't see it at all. Quoting: Rome BurningIf you watch further into the video, you will see Mercury reappear on the other side of the sun. But the guy claims it has been photo shopped in by NASA so as not to cause a panic. Who knows, but I suspect if Mercury really was missing the amateur planet watching sites would be hopping about it and no way could NASA contain something like that. So I have high suspicion that Mercury is just fine, and we see a ccd overload event in the video.
