Anonymous Coward User ID: 1505286 United Kingdom 08/16/2011 11:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That is a beautiful part of the world by the way. I used to live a couple of miles from there and the walk up to the monument you can see in the background is worth it for the view. Incidentally, this is a very mystical part of ancient England. Stonehenge isn't far away, but the less well known Avebury circles are about a mile away. [link to www.nationaltrust.org.uk] This area is steeped in mysticism, with some people seeing the area around the stones as some sort of pre-historic "runway" for alien craft. Anyway, a wee bit off topic, but wanted to share that, to give a wee bit of context for those unfamiliar with this part of England. |

[link to www.youtube.com] That video is a well-known fake. Notice the upload date is from 2006. A man with video editing skills put that together to prank the crop circle community and he has been on documentaries describing how he did it. Interesting bit about the symbol though- a nice catch from the person in the comments section who pointed it out |

There have been investigations into commonalities amongst the crop glyph appearances and it was found that around 95% of them appear above underground streams(?). If I'm remembering correctly. When the circle locations were plotted on a map, they lined up perfectly with the underground aquifers |

I was just looking for a link in case anyone asked more about the monument and apparently it is only 100 metres away from the watershed of the Rivers Thames and Avon. [link to en.wikipedia.org] |
