The lie of the bible is that there is a God from whom we must be saved.
Once you believe in the beast who will destroy you... the rest is elementary.
No 'savior' is necessary if no beast exists who wants to harm you. If there's nothing to be saved FROM, then there is no need for a savior.

Right, because the only alternatives are "wait for jesus to save us because we're humans and not responsible for ourselves or our actions" or "think happy thoughts and magic it into going away". I'll take option number three: Humans are responsible for cleaning up HUMAN messes. Sounds good to me, so what are Humans waiting for? Why have they let it come this far? Why isn't Fukishima discussed daily in California seeing how it shares the otherside of the Ocean with Japan? Or perhaps we can agree in God's teaching that All Men are Evil and only seeks the desires of their own selfish hearts. Why bother? Why even get mad at the government for not doing anything? If jesus don't save us, the aliens will... That's your answer. The "savior" business REMOVES PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Rather than realizing there should be human action and response, people just sit around saying, "Oh well, humans aren't going to do anything. Neither am I. I'll just wait for Jesus."
