Never ever go into bear country without a 45 cal. pistol and 2 clips along with a Bowie knife. You wear bear bells, you make lots of noise, you stay in a group, you shoot the bear that thinks to attack. Your last effort should be to get into deep water where you can drown the bear if necessary.
Really a shame, this story. The dad is the reason for it all.
