I promise you that you will feel normal with natural products. No mood swings especially when you need your meds increased, which is getting deeper in trouble. I know because I was there for over a decade. If you dont want to cause more pain for yourself than please find natural solutions. I never want to see someone fall in the trap I was in. I would go to a witch doctor before asking for man made poison again after seeing what they have done to myself and this country. JMO. |

I usually just use them on occasion, at work, because work is physically demanding and stressful, and stuff like oxy, opana, roxi, tabs, percs... keeps me motivated, energetic, and happy. Someone took a 2 week vacation 2 weeks ago, and my work load and hours doubled.... I've started withdrawals today... can't sleep, it' terrible, but I do drugs, dont let them do me. Strange thing is... I don't know if I want to stop... pain meds are the best anti-depressant I've ever known... Kenaz Ansuz |

Quoting: WodensmanYou better get off before you are so dependant or addicted to them that a gun sounds better than withdrawl. I have been there done that. All the ones you named and the Fentanyl patch. It almost killed me and made me a zombie for the past four years since I was on it. Dont play around with these evil drugs. They are very deceptive. They will give you bliss at first and hell in the end. Peace to you. |

Strange thing is... I don't know if I want to stop... pain meds are the best anti-depressant I've ever known... Quoting: WodensmanPain meds are the devil when it comes to what they do to your body/system... I endured through a significant oxycontin withdrawal when I was recovering from a major back surgery I had in 2002... It will SUCK for a few weeks, but you WILL get better once you get that crap out of your system.... After having experienced that, I don't want anything to do with those pills ever again. And just so I'm clear, I never abused them one bit, but I was prescribed 240 mg a day (or every 24 hours) when I got out of the hospital, and I had exposed my body to a significant amount of oxycontin. Widdled down to 20 mg a day towards the tail end of my recovery, but even then so, my withdrawal effects were awful in the following weeks....I was so happy to get that crap out of my system. My advice, if you have to take some mood altering substances, go with marijuana/beer/wine, but in MODERATION... Too much of anything is no good, but at least pot and some beer/wine will not screw up your system as badly as pain meds... As long as you're not an alcoholic or excessive toker, you can stop taking those vices if you need to, and not experience the type of nasty withdrawal you are guaranteed to experience, if you were to deprive your body of painkillers... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1510616 Canada 08/19/2011 12:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What doctor do I see? What do I say? Quoting: Doom LoverHave ADD. Be yourself. Be honest. If you don't have ADD you really don't need it. It doesn't work the same way in normal people. It makes us more ADD. For example, some people take it to study before an exam and end up spending all night reorganizing their CDs or plucking out every single hair in their eyebrows. If you don't need it, you're lucky, so keep your eyebrows. If you do, then by all means see a doctor. |
reptarjr User ID: 1428894 United States 08/19/2011 12:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Try concerta, it's like Adderall but "lighter". Adderall isn't a drug to want. Either you have a serious problem or you don't. I'm on it and I haven't been the same since. It'll recover you from a night of heavy drinking within 30 mins but, meh. I still wouldn't suggest it. Try everything else before you go to a doctor for adderall. If all fails then, head to the doctor. They might screen you, they might not. depends on the doctor. Some doctors won't give it to you they'll give you something else. |

Quoting: Doom LoverAdderal is prescription meth, I know how you feel but believe me, you wont be the same and if you ever take yourself off it you will be down . Actually my sister took it for a while (she needed it, couldn't get herself organized to do things normal people can, like wake up and go to work every day, and then would tear herself up over it and go into this big depression feeling like a failure, but it wasn't her fault, she's smart and tries hard but her mind just doesn't have good time management). Well, it gave her headaches every evening, so she stopped. Just cold turkey stopped. That was a year ago and she never seemed to have any interest in trying it again. She has a more flexible work schedule instead. Anyway she was one of the few people that didn't get addicted, she actually kept forgetting to take them before and had to be reminded anyhow. But then she never abused them to cram for an exam or something, I think that's where you get into trouble. Also if you have a tendency to get addicted to anything, you are probably at a much higher risk of addiction with this too. It is not a play-around drug for sure. |

Don't think its a big deal as long as it doesn't become a crutch. I don't think Adderall and Amphetamines are really addictive, I had been taking Vyvanse everyday for 2 months and just stopped cold turkey and haven't noticed anything I'd categorize as being "withdrawals". |
