Bullshit fearmongering. Maybe my perception is different, I live in the south. And yes, some cops are corrupt dicks that seek power for their own ends. But there are awesome people who become cops and uniforms for the right reasons. Down here, these guys are the ones who call the dicks on it. Not every cop is bad, not every cop is a dick. They aren't out to get you. And we aren't out to get them. Some of us, some of them remember the real reason they exist. To serve and protect.

We're being snowed and failing the test set for us every single time we turn on each other. I don't want THAT world anymore. We're our adversary, we're the reason. The sin of Adam and Eve wasn't eating the apple, it's that they wouldn't own it. They wouldn't take responsibility and look God in the eye and say yes, we did it, together. So we've been living in this world of blame and hate thinking if we're just good he'll come back and love us again. All we have to do is follow the rules. But really? Those rules cause more conflict and create more division, more blame.

So we've taken the route of shame, blame, despair, seperation from each other and God. Every time we turn on someone with force. Every time we speak words of hate. Every time we condemn, how can we? We never know the sum total of a person's life experience. We can only look at each other as flawed souls just trying to find the way home. And we don't do that by more of the same. We've tried that, for too long. Let's decide to forgive ourselves, God did. Now it's up to us to get the real message. Love each other as we love ourselves, do unto other as we'd have them do unto us. You don't have to be a Christian to understand the beauty of it. But we're not that now, we could be... if we just let it all go and start loving instead of fearing. It's our choice now.

There's guns in NYC, but permits are based on demonstrated need.

In other words, if you are rich or you have a business, guns are go, but the average person cannot get a carry permit.
