The problem is that it's easy to say "We'll do this" and "We'll do that", but when it comes to looking at the reality and what the costs could be for Israel it might give him pause.

After reading a few of these posts, I have a question. You mean to tell me that after years of rockets bombing the shit outta Israel that now it is Israel actually bombing themselves? You mean that Hamas is now actually a reverse force designed to give just cause and drum up sympathy for Israel? Wow...

Everyone look around. Stand up and walk out to your backyard and look at it. Do you think that is "your land"? Do you think that that land has always belonged to your people or society? Every land once belong to another...EVERY. If you are in the USA and you believe that Israel has taken what is not theirs, you should contact your nearest indian reservation and give "your property" back to them.

Will the internationally recognized terrorist organization known as Hamas keep firing rockets into Israel?

If they don't then Israel wont have a reason to bomb Gaza (although as has been said, they might as retaliation for previous incidents)

So people should put their faith in a terrorist group like Hamas to stop with their terrorist attacks. When Israel does bomb, they at least try and take out the militants. Unlike Hamas who targets whoever, whatever, wherever.

I'm not saying people should put faith in Hamas to stick to the ceasefire, but if they actually do (and keep it up for a while, say 24 hours with no attacks at all) then it puts Israel in a tough spot.

Why are you so easily sidetracked by this tactic? Don't you see what Hamas did? They caused deaths, and damage in Israel, and now as Israel is readying their full retaliation which involves time to organize, Hamas is saying "wait! we didn't mean it! We call ceasefire!"

You can't just attack someone then immediately call a ceasefire. It's so ludicrous it's "theater of the absurd". If Israel accepts this manipulative and sham farce unilateral "ceasefire" they are really in trouble.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying that if Israel do nothing it makes them look like pussies (and like they've fallen for the plan you mention, which makes it more likely to happen again), but if they attack then Hamas will spin it as Israeli aggression, which doesn't help Israel, because it might further inflame the Egypt situation).

I agree with that. I just don't think that Hamas should always have the ball in their court with regard to ceasefires. Hamas launches an assault, Israel retaliates, then when Hamas says "okay we'll stop now, so you should stop now too" and then all eyes are on Israel.

You obviously know NOTHING about the situation over there. Yes, the few people fakestinians want a fakestinian state through the UN. Hamas and most of the rest of the islamic extremests DO NOT want a negotiated state, because they know that means they would have to abide by UN and Israeli law in order to operate that state. Most fakestinians view that as a new form if Israeli domination and slavery over them and they will NOT accept that. Hamas would love to see nothing more than do DESTROY any and all attempt at a peace agreement with Israel. They don't even recongize Israel and have contantly call for Israel's destruction. If there is any peace agreement with Israel, Hamas will no longer have any power or reason to exist. Hamas will do whatever it takes to destroy any peace agreement with Israel, and that includes killing Israelis as well as thier own people if that's what it takes.

Exactly. These geniuses think Hamas will roll back to paperwork jobs if the UN declares their current piece of land a state. Hamas' goal is to retake all of Israel, including Jerusalem, and they won't willingly stop until they get it.

I think the whole world should 'flash mob' the whole of Gaza and Israel and steal all their weapons, and give them food, medicine, esp. psych. meds.-and make them all chicken soup to wash it down with.

An then there are the heavily armed Jewish settlers to think about who VIOLENTLY oppose giving any Jewish land to the fakestinains. If that happens, there will be a new and even bloodier battle betteen the settlers and the fakestinians, both of whom will be determined to wipe each other out.

I am against a UN imposed statehood, but on the other hand, it will help kick off new violent bloody battles for terrority, and since it's not illegal for Americans to send direct financial and military aid to the Jewish settlers, this UN meddling in middle east affairs might not be so bad after all. You'll just have 2 recognized states at war now.

Israel needs to take back Gaza, expel all Palastinians from Israeli holdings and deport them to Egypt.

Then they need to level Gaza and build housing for actual Israeli's who want to live in Israel and be constuctive members of the Israeli community.

Then they need to warn Egypt that if one single bomb comes across the border, it's lights out for Egypt.

The problem with Israel is they don't have that kind of CHUTZPAH yet to take what is rightfully theirs. The stupid asses are always looking for a peaceful negotiated settlement even if it takes 40 years and millions of deaths. Seems they'll just never learn how what it is to achieve a true swift decisive victory.

Did Americans win the land years of negotiated peace settlements? HELL NO!!! We killed and killed and killed for every inch of land we took. Just before the filthy savages were wiped out of existance, they finally came crawling on their knees begging for mercy! and THAT'S when the wars ended! THAT'S is how you achieve PEACE!!! The Israelis just haven't learned that yet. They haven't learned it in 60 years. Who knows how long it will be before they get a TRUE leader of the Israeli people who will lead them to a final and decisive victory, and achievement of the kind of peace the USA enjoys? You're not going to find that kind of leadership under that old softy Netanyahu, that's for sure!
